Video Labs
During the art residency, I will be running a video lab where we will be making poetry videos and dream visions.
Everyone is welcome to participate, even if this is a first experience for you.
My idea is to take Georgian folklore and fairy tales as a basis. To read them together, to find images and symbols that hook us. To transform and translate them into visual language - to make a fairy tale film.
Everyone in this lab can be an "actor" - in quotes, because in this process I want us to choose roles and archetypes based on what we want to explore in ourselves now.
So it's a film shoot, but at the same time a tool to explore ourselves.
As a cameraman and director, I know and love to take a "good look" with the camera at a person. And I am interested in working with actual material, with what we have, with what we will "meet" together on the way.
In terms of form it will most likely be a plastic film without words, but we can work with text, poetry and monologues.
I invite you to join the crew, because shooting a film is always a complex process - we will write scripts, look for locations, create props, maybe even costumes, solve all sorts of non-standard creative problems together. If you like shooting or editing, you can join as a cameraman.

Axis Syllabus Study Lab Dance Practices
Hi, my name is Grusha and I am a contemporary dance, performance and bodywork practitioner. I am currently a teacher candidate for the Axis Syllabus platform
I believe that dance is for anyone and everyone and want us to fall in love with our bodies.
We are all different and unique, no one will dance like you, no one will dance for you. And everyone has a place, everyone is exactly who and what they need to be.
In the art residency I will be leading dance classes using the tools of the Axis Syllabus platform. In other words, we will dance, crawl, fly, jump and fall, touch each other, rejoice, discover our individualities, limitations and superpowers.
✨ The classes will be useful for:
- people interested in having new bodily experiences, developing new bodily skills
- anyone who wants to
fill themselves with energy and joy of movement
- dancers who want to dive deeper into the practice, discover new interrelationships in body and movement, discover new facets of their dance.
✨ What we will gain from the class:
- we will improve the skill of listening to ourselves and our partner
- develop greater sensitivity, dexterity and flexibility
- expand the range of movement skills
- develop body awareness
- find your dance
Classes are structured from simple to complex, allowing us to gently immerse ourselves in the process. During the classes we will watch anatomical pictures and videos, share knowledge, and put new information into practice. Many directions of modern dance, such as flying low, countertechnique, contact improvisation are based on certain principles, using the laws of physics, spirals, weight distribution. If you find the anatomical keys to movement in your body, then dance becomes easier, safer and brings more joy.
I invite you to dance with me. Even if you've never done it - that's okay, it's time to give it a try.
As an elective, I'd like to suggest a couple more ideas related to corporeality and everyday life:
1) take photos of participants' collarbones or your favourite body part
2) make a short video on how everyday activities we do every day can become a dance
3) keep a diary of observations about yourself and your body. We all brush our teeth, for example, but we do it in very different ways

Tea is not just a tea drinking ritual, but a metaphor for the sense of beauty in human life. The practice involves developing the ability to perceive the process with all the senses, to create harmonious spaces, and to be resilient.
I believe that by doing practice in a challenging environment, we make our practice more conscious and clear. In this way we can become a support ourselves - first of all for ourselves, but also for those around us.
In addition to tea ceremonies, I intend to practise qigong and tai chi, and to socialise with a wide variety of people and watch them grow.

Each participant can declare a lab topic or run a workshop. We propose to explore together what we are interested in. From the philosophy of Zen Buddhism to the constructive features of building snow forts.
We maintain a stream of regular practices in the space -
yoga, qigong, bodywork, contact improvisation, creative workshops, music jams. These will change periodically throughout the residency.
You are welcome to join in with whatever you are interested in and offer any ideas you have.

— Can I work in Dao Space?
— Yes, there is a coworking space, internet is up to 24 mBit/s (best LTE possible), 2 generators for stable electricity and private room for meetings and calls. Rooms are also workable, there are working tables in every single/twin room. And of course you can work in our cafe, with coffee, smoothies and snacks.
— Do I have to take part in all of the classes/workshops?
— No, you can take your time and choose what really resonates with you - but something will always happen and all the activities will be open for you. Find your own work/chill/fun balance.
— Is there a store around?
— The village has no store, but we have a small one in our bar with chocolates and small necessary things. Also we go to Batumi for supply once a week, you can ask to bring you what you need.
— What's fun there?
— Bright international community, ski lift, parties, cozy bar, warm houses, fireplaces, sauna, piano, DJ stuff, projector, sea just 2 hours drive away, stunning views around, green forest, and overall it is a powerful place for inspiration and chill

Batumi, the pearl of the Black Sea, is only 2 hours away. It is a small city on the sea, notable for its modern architecture, beautiful parks and spectacular sunsets.
Batumi's tourist season is in summer - and in winter it's a pleasant place with not too many people, warm weather and low prices.
When you live in Gomarduli - it's good to go down to Batumi for 2-3 days every now and then. Take a walk in the park by the sea, try different food, get a haircut and nails done, and just a change of atmosphere.
It will be +18 on a sunny day, magnolias are blooming at the end of January and the air smells of spring.
Batumi's tourist season is in summer - and in winter it's a pleasant place with not too many people, warm weather and low prices.
